Iconic alternative rock band Pixies are set to make their Limerick debut with a special outdoor performance at King John’s Castle on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Limerick Racecourse to bring you the King Johns Castle Munster National Racing Festival.
Speaking at the launch, Tom Rudd, Manager of Limerick Racecourse said ‘It is very special to joing forces with such an iconic landmark like King John’s Castle to launch and showcase our new festival. The castle symbolises Limerick’s rich medieval history, and we hope our racing festival, like its namesake, will still be going strong 800 years from now’.
The event will take place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October 2023.

A giant golf ball and dazzling light projections lit up King John’s Castle this week as Limerick celebrated the Ryder Cup putter handover from New York to Adare, host of the 2027 tournament.
