This October, step into a world of magic, myths, and mischief as King John’s Castle in Limerick hosts a spooktacular Halloween line-up for families of all ages. From traditional Irish storytelling by the fireside to larger-than-life spectacles, pumpkin painting, and creative workshops, there’s something enchanting for everyone.
Gather round the Limerick Fireside and immerse yourself in a captivating evening of traditional Irish storytelling, folklore, and music. Daithí Collopy will bring the legends of Samhain to life through story and song.
The unmissable centrepiece of this year’s Halloween celebrations, Con Mór, The Giant, will take over the courtyard of King John’s Castle.
Hailing from the Island of Giants off the coast of Connaught, Con Mór is famed as The Bird King, beloved across Ireland for his passion for birds and nature. A legendary member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Con Mór’s presence at the castle promises a truly magical experience.
On special evenings — October 18, 19, 26 & November 1, 2 — Con Mór will come alive with sound, light, and smoke in a spectacular 15-minute outdoor production. Visitors are welcome to explore the courtyard and enjoy the installation for up to an hour

A safe and creative twist on a Halloween classic! Instead of carving, children will decorate their pumpkins using paints, patterns, and spooky designs. Each child will bring home their own festive masterpiece.
