Iconic alternative rock band Pixies are set to make their Limerick debut with a special outdoor performance at King John’s Castle on Sunday, May 31, 2026, as part of their Pixies 40 worldwide headline tour.

Celebrating 40 Years of Music

 

Formed in 1986, Pixies have been at the forefront of alternative rock for four decades. Founding members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering, joined by bassist Emma Richardson, will perform a career-spanning set that highlights their influential albums, from Surfer Rosa (1988) and Doolittle (1989) to their latest release, The Night The Zombies Came. Known for their explosive live shows and unique sound, Pixies have inspired generations of musicians and fans alike.

King John’s Castle, located in the heart of Limerick, provides a stunning backdrop for this milestone performance. Its medieval architecture and riverside setting make it one of Ireland’s most iconic live music venues. Mick Dolan of Dolan’s Live Music said:
